Briget Boyle brings together some of the creme de la creme of the Bay Area singer-songwriter community for her debut album release. Welcoming Iron Henry and Even Taylor to join her on the bill, prepare for a sumptuous evening full of rich vocals, heart wrenching melodies, and brilliant lyricism. Presented by Awaken Café and Oaktown Indie Mayhem, the show will take place at Awaken Café, 1429 Broadway, Oakland, CA, 94612, on January 17, 2015 at 8:00 PM.
Briget Boyle is a singer-songwriter based in Oakland, CA. Her debut album, The Parts Interior, composed entirely of her original music, is now available for sale at The Parts Interior was produced by Scott McDowell, Briget Boyle, and Harlow Carpenter. 
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Briget began writing her own music at the age of 12. Briget is an engaging and complex performer who brings a lifetime of discovery and struggle to her music. She is one of the preeminent vocalists in the Balkan and Eastern European music scene in the Bay Area, having performed with renowned groups KitkaBrass Menazeri, and True Life Trio.
Briget’s set will feature Briget’s own talents as well as those of Bay Area musicians Aaron Kierbel, Mike Shiono, Matthew Szemela, Lewis Patzner, Iron Henry, True Life Trio, Harlow Carpenter, and Briget’s Los Angeles-based mother, Karen Tobin.
Iron Henry came together out of love for harmony. Drawing vocal inspiration from ancient music, sacred harp spirituals, pop, and more, their orchestration could be described as quirky, folky, and eclectic. Simple songs which strive to cut through your heart-bands. Iron Henry is Caitlin T. Austin, Tom Purtill, and Tim Silva.
Even Taylor is an Oakland-based singer-songwriter in the process of recording her first album. Originally from Quincy, CA, her mountain roots show through in rich, folksy harmonies and natural imagery. Her haunting voice and evocative lyrics conspire to create transformative music. With echoes of Cat Power, Alela Diane and Laura Marling, yet in a style uniquely her own, Even's music resonates with the yearning, tenderness, and fragility of an examined inner life.
